Cael and his pups!

As Cael gets older, he is more aware of his surroundings and nothing makes him happier right now than his puppies!! He loves Dodge and Potter and will squeal, squirm and giggle at the sight of one of them. They are almost sure to pull him out of a fussy mood and make him laugh.They too are both fascinated by Cael as they each try to understand this new creature that has entered their home and turned everything topsy turvy. And Cael is returning the favor, but his exploration is more 'hands on' with tugging on their tails and ears as well as grabbing handfuls of fur. We are trying to teach Cael to be 'gentle', but he doesn't really understand the concept. Usually we just end up pulling Cael out of arms reach so that he cannot continue to antagonize them. However, Dodge is a perfect gentleman and is content to let him tug away. Dodge is also his forever faithful sidekick not wanting to be very far from his new little charge. We haven't figured out if he really loves Cael that much or if he is merely hoping for a 'snack' of spit up and/or purified fruit! Either way, he is always quick with the kisses and sneaks them in whenever he can, much to our dismay!Potter is still a little unsure of the baby, but for the most part he is extremely gentle with Cael choosing to demonstrate his love and affection with gentle sniffing and light kisses. However, the tail is proving to be a problem as Cael has already been smacked on the back of the head several times. So far no major damage has occurred and we are even more careful to keep our eye on Potter when he gets excited - which happens A LOT! Regardless, the whole process is very endearing and I can't wait for the three of them to get to know each other better and for the adventures they will surely experience together.
